Weekend menu – 20 & 21 October ’17

They don’t make stuff like they used to! Regular readers may recall we had to replace one of our big fridges recently. The new unit was delivered on 1st September and has already gone on the blink. It is under warranty and an engineer is due this morning but it’s blooming inconvenient and not what you expect from a brand new bit of supposedly commercial kit. It also puts us behind with prep for the hopefully busy weekend ahead until we have the fridge space to store stuff correctly. If, as happened last night,  a customer rings up a quarter of an hour after their booked time to say they have to “cancel” their table of 4 do we log that as a no show or a cancellation? Either way we have to bear the cost of the bread we baked off and canapes we prepared. Thankfully we hadn’t turned other customers away in the belief that we did not have a free table. Moving on……schools are back, summer holidays done and dusted for most and we have tables available for both Friday and Saturday at time of writing. Please call 01453 832808 to book.

It’s the second week in August and we were thinking about putting the heating on last night to take the chill off the dining room….aahh the great British summer!     At the moment we have tables available for Friday evening but Saturday is filling up so please call on 01453 832808 to reserve for dinner. Saturday brunch served from 11a.m. and no need to book, just pop in. If it’s dry we will have the courtyard open too.

Where did everybody go? We had a very quiet weekend but with good weather forecast it seemed trips to the seaside and barbies in the garden were popular choices. Throw in a few cup finals, a bank holiday and school half term and it was tumbleweed time along Old Market!
