Mid week menu – 27 to 29 June 2017

English asparagus season is coming to an end soon so we’ll put it on the menu again while we can. We had another delivery from Woodchester Valley Vineyard , both the Bacchus and Regent Rose would pair well with the asparagus for a celebration of  local summer produce.

Mid week menu 20 to 22 June 2017

We got the courtyard set up and stood by for a busy Saturday brunch and…….nothing happened! We had a few in but none of our “regulars” showed up and Nailsworth was like a ghost town. I guess the garden or the seaside were a bigger draw on the hottest day of the year so far. Hopefully better luck next week.

Weekend menu – 26 & 27 May 2017

A bit late with the menu today. I can only blame it on the mini heat wave which meant I dashed from the office (which is over the restaurant kitchen and therefore rather warm) once the orders were placed and the menu was written without doing the blog bit! To book your table for dinner please call 01453 832808. We gave the courtyard a tidy yesterday in anticipation of some al fresco opportunities this weekend too.

Weekend menu – 21 & 22 April 2017

Just placed the fish order for tomorrows delivery. Fingers crossed there are no hiccups this week. Last Thursday night the van coming up from the South West did not make it to the rendezvous point in time so the supplier in Cirencester did not receive the stocks they needed to fill the orders they had. I did feel sorry for the chap who was ringing round to irate chefs on Bank Holiday Friday to apologise and inform that numerous items were unavailable, short or substituted. It wasn’t a major issue for us as we just changed the weekend menu and wasted a few sheets of A4 but it will have been a huge spanner in the works for some of the large hotel and banqueting operations. Glad those days are behind us!

Dinner menu – 18 to 20 April 2017

Easter Sunday and we are ticking off the work related jobs so we can have some free time later. Typically it is dull, overcast and not very warm so outdoor activities will be limited. On the plus side there seems little point in washing the car if rain is on the way and there is motor racing on the telly later this afternoon!

Weekend 31 March and 1 April 2017

April is upon us, end of the financial year and no doubt a hefty tax bill to pay! Looking on the bright side (difficult as it is chucking down with rain again at the moment) Spring is here, tubs and shrubs are starting to fill out and we had our first customers sat in the courtyard for brunch last weekend. Orders placed  with fish monger and butcher for Friday’s delivery and menu written for the weekend. Please call us on 01453 832808 to book your table for dinner or just pop in for brunch on Saturday from 11 a.m.
