Weekend menu – 28/29 October 2016

Halloween in a few days time then bonfire night next weekend, before you know it Christmas will be upon us!! It certainly isn’t too early to be making plans and booking tables for your get togethers with friends and family. Finely sliced salmon gravadlax with horseradish crème fraiche

Warm Mediterranean vegetable tart, wild rocket and pesto

Smoked haddock and pumpkin kedgeree

Braised leeks wrapped in air dried ham baked under double Gloucester cream

 

Poached loch reared trout supreme with crayfish and white wine cream sauce

Pan fried sea bass fillet on dark soy, sesame and ginger jus

Sautéed Cotswold pork escallops, mixed mushroom and chive cream

Aged local beef fillet, shallot, mustard and rich red wine reduction                                    (£3.50 supplement – sorry)

Roast Barbary duck breast sliced over Bramley apple sauce and cider gravy

Kale and ricotta cannelloni baked in plum tomato sauce

 

Pecan tart served warm with clotted cream ice cream

Blame it on Brexit seems to be the answer to everything from rising wine, food and fuel costs to lack of customers and folk not spending. In the meantime HM Gov tells us small business owners to increase wages and provide work place pensions for all………thanks a lot!

Another table booked for New Years Eve last night so that is one side of the dining room full already. Pheasant season in full swing now and pumpkins are everywhere!…..Hilary is making her take on a spiced pumpkin cheesecake we had in America last week……smells good.
