Mid week menu 20 to 22 June 2017

We got the courtyard set up and stood by for a busy Saturday brunch and…….nothing happened! We had a few in but none of our “regulars” showed up and Nailsworth was like a ghost town. I guess the garden or the seaside were a bigger draw on the hottest day of the year so far. Hopefully better luck next week.

Mid week menu – 6 to 8 June ’17

“There’s nowt so queer as folk”…..let me explain. Mid brunch yesterday a few ladies came in and looked around then asked if we could accommodate a party of 8 in the courtyard in half an hours time.We had a table just paying and with a bit of shuffling  of furniture we could so they said they would round up the rest of their group from local shops and be back in 30 minutes or so…….the table that we set up for 8 remained empty for the rest of the day….thanks a lot!

A bit late with the menu today. I can only blame it on the mini heat wave which meant I dashed from the office (which is over the restaurant kitchen and therefore rather warm) once the orders were placed and the menu was written without doing the blog bit! We enjoyed a nice busy brunch last weekend with young Lucy having to dash out mid service for supplies so I have ordered a good quantity of gluten free Gloucester sausages, free range Dursley eggs and home cured bacon from Country Quality Meat for this Saturday. Last day of term in our area so the beginning of the Easter break for many. Combine that with the good weather forecast for the coming weekend and we could find ourselves very busy as folk get together to go out or we could be very quiet as folk head for the coast or stay at home and dust off the BBQ.
