Weekend menu – 14 &15 September 2018

Some local courgette growers have been kindly passing on their surplus harvest, hence this weekends soup. In a similar vein we put out a crate of our surplus pears with a “help yourself” note and they were gone within a few hours. We have tables available for dinner this weekend, please call 01453 832808 to book.

Creamed courgette soup

Pan fried Devon crab cake with sweet chilli dipping sauce

Autumn mushroom millefeuille, herb cream sauce and truffle oil

Smoked salmon and prawn parcel, Marie Rose and capers

Warm chorizo and onion tart with mixed pickles and slaw

 

Baked Cornish hake supreme on a bed of fine ratatouille

Pan fried sea bass fillet, dark soy, sesame and ginger sauce

Roast Barbary duck breast sliced over foraged blackberries and Port jus

Sautéed Cotswold pork escallops, buttered Evesham leeks

Aged local beef fillet, Cornish blue cheese and rich red wine reduction                                      (£3.50 supplement – sorry)

Cauliflower and sweet potato Madras with saffron scented rice

 

Warm triple chocolate brownie with white chocolate ice cream

Baked cheesecake, mixed berry compote

Cherry and almond tart served warm with Cornish clotted cream

Four West Country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread

Quite a few people have been asking about the “For Sale” sign out front so we have put a separate page on the blog explaining all…… Here we are in to September and the start of the school term. Historically this is a quiet weekend for us but let’s see if we can change that….. Wild rocket and peach salad, torn buffalo mozzarella, toasted pine nuts

Pan fried gilt head bream fillet with sesame, soy and ginger dipping sauce

Baked free range egg, finely cut ratatouille and chorizo

 

South coast plaice fillets with baby leaf spinach and mild curry cream

Pan fried sea bass fillet on warm tomato and basil dressing

Roast Barbary duck breast sliced over apple sauce and cider gravy
