It feels like time to pack away the courtyard for the winter as it’s a lovely day for outside jobs and perhaps a walk but too cold for sitting about.

Weekend menu – 11 & 12 May 2018

A bit late posting the menu today…..here’s why. Our fishmonger is based up the road in Cirencester where they receive deliveries from the coast then store, prepare and dispatch orders to restaurants, hotels etc. in the area. So as to improve efficiency (cut costs?) the order department is now based in the South Midlands and we did not receive our regular Thursday morning call with market updates and fresh fish availability for the weekend’s order. Rest assured we have now placed our order and fresh fish will be delivered in the morning but it’s a shame to loose that first name contact and rapport that built up over our 15 years as customers. Here comes the weekend……menu written, orders placed, weather looks promising….will you be joining us? Dinner served from 7p.m. Friday and Saturday with tables available at the moment. Saturday brunch served in the dining room and “al fresco” in our courtyard from 11a.m. No need to book, it’s very casual so just drop in, grab a newspaper and relax.

Weekend menu – 20/21 April 2018

We tried some nice wines yesterday with Antony from The Oxford Wine Company in preparation for our new list which will be coming soon. First English asparagus of the season is in the kitchen and looks great, on the menu this weekend cooked simply and served with cracked pepper and lemon butter sauce. Hopefully the fine weather will stay long enough for us to use the courtyard this weekend. For bookings please call 01453 832808.

Weekend dinner menu – 13 & 14 April 2018

Doris the duck update…..after enduring a long spell on her nest through some pretty grim weather just six ducklings hatched on Tuesday morning. Our smallest flock to date. They spent the day scrabbling round the courtyard then yesterday morning took the plunge and followed mum by jumping in to the Nailsworth stream. 

Orders placed for Friday’s fresh fish and meat deliveries, tables available for dinner on both Friday and Saturday at the moment….it’s that end of Easter break time when folk are on the move so it could all change. Please call 01453 832808 to book.

Weekend menu – 24/25 November 2017

The decorations are up as it is Nailsworth Noel this Friday. We are open as normal for restaurant diners but will not be setting up a stall outside this year. The fair, food trucks and stalls will all be gone by Saturday and it is market day so we are open for brunch from 11 as usual and again for dinner from 7 p.m. Please call 01453 832808 to book for dinner.
