It was good to see the ” fully booked” sign out last night.

Weekend diner menu 22/23 February ’19

I just looked back at this week last year in the diary to try and predict what a dry, mild weekend and half term holiday combo might mean for business and there on the page for March 1st was written “The beast from the East” followed by an almost blank 3 days of bookings and a note that the fish delivery could not get through on 2 consecutive days. It’s rather wet and windy folks. We just had a delivery and the driver said the doors almost snapped off his van at his previous drop to the golf club on the common!  The Christmas decorations are up and the lights will be switched on this Friday.

Last week was national egg week apparently. Maybe that was why we had 33 customers in for brunch enjoying eggy bread, scrambled with and without smoked salmon, poached on toast as well as Florentine, and plenty of good old fried with an Oldstone breakfast. Maybe see you next Saturday?

Weekend menu – 25 & 26 August ’17

It’s the summer bank holiday weekend. You can tell because it is cool and drizzling and they had the heating on in Morrisons when I popped in this morning for a few bits. Please note we will be closing brunch on Saturday at the earlier time of 2 p.m. as we have a little private party being held in the afternoon. Dinner bookings being taken from 7.30 onwards.
