Weekend menu – 14 & 15 July 2017

Our neighbour is having a new driveway laid and due to the cutting of paving slabs and a gentle breeze everything is covered in a fine dust. We could do with an overnight shower just to dampen things down a little! Should be finished by the weekend though so don’t be put off using our courtyard for brunch or dinner. A new record of sorts……we had customers eating and drinking in the garden every evening last week. On Wednesday all our tables ate outside so it looked as though we had an empty restaurant if you passed by. Thankfully that was not the case. Rain forecast for this week though but you never know.

I understand that circumstances can change at the last minute but when someone calls at 7.45 on a Saturday night to cancel their 7.45 Saturday booking and we have turned customers away earlier that empty table really starts to annoy every time you look at it. At least they were kind enough to call and let us know. Don’t get me started on the subject of “no shows”.

We got the courtyard set up and stood by for a busy Saturday brunch and…….nothing happened! We had a few in but none of our “regulars” showed up and Nailsworth was like a ghost town. I guess the garden or the seaside were a bigger draw on the hottest day of the year so far. Hopefully better luck next week.
