Weekend menu – 23/24 June ’17

Just spoke to our fish supplier and we have Devon crab, prawns, crayfish, Isle of Man queen scallops, line caught bass and Cornish monk fish ordered for delivery on Friday morning. Weekend menu -3 & 4 February 2017

It’s been a miserable week weather wise so far. Difficult fishing conditions so we have gone with swordfish as one of our weekend options. Last pheasant shoot of the season too. A simple starter of Severn and Wye oak smoked salmon, Devon crab meat and prawns

Well it’s that time of year again when we sit down and write out a jobs to do, replace and repair list for our old buildings and courtyard. Looking back on last years most of them got ticked off and a few more added as we went along as bits of kit broke down or a leak or two appeared!

Did you get out in the sunshine on bank holiday Monday? We had a day trip to the Welsh coast, lovely walk, stunning beaches and crab sandwich for lunch. Before heading home we bought some “just picked” organic Pembrokeshire purple sprouting broccoli to go with a tomato and basil risotto and the dozen scallops we hadn’t sold on New Years Eve, all enjoyed with a glass or two of chilled wine…………Happy days! After a busy few weeks we have enjoyed our day off today taking down decorations and giving the place a really good clean as well as catching up on jobs such as defrosting fridges, cleaning extractors, descaling dishwashers and servicing water softeners……we know how to have a good time!
