Weekend menu – 11 & 12 November 2016

It used to be normal practice for utility companies and contractors to let you know when they were doing works so that you could make arrangements for your business regarding access, deliveries etc. so we were a little surprised on Tuesday morning when 5 chaps and a mini digger ripped up the pavements outside the restaurant. They left it taped off like a crime scene overnight then laid a rough tarmac base on Wednesday. This morning a lorry full of tarmac turned up at 9 a.m. but 3 hours later there is no sign of anyone in high viz to lay it! We can assure you that despite outward appearance we are open for business with tables available for both Friday and Saturday at the moment. Please call 01453 832808 to book.

Not again! Following the recent incident when a car crashed in to the front of the restaurant (repairs due to start any day) we notice our hanging sign at the front is bent out of shape, you know the one that says  “low headroom” on the side facing the flow of traffic! It must have been done by one of the delivery lorries that frequently bounce up on the kerb there but of course no one put their hands up to it.

Weekend menu – 10 & 11 June 2016

Strange as it sounds we want a bit of rain. Let me explain. Pete put a scaffold tower up in the courtyard to give him access to the roof valley that has been causing problems. Until it rains to test his repairs he obviously does not want to take it down but in the meantime it is an eye sore and also means we loose a table on the patio if it is               “al fresco dining” weather. You can’t win can you?

It’s been an interesting morning so far. The intruder alarm has gone off five times even though it is not even set and there is no one but me in the building! An engineer has tried an over the phone diagnosis and a number of resets but it will need a house call some time today to fix it. In the moments of silence I did manage to place a fish order for delivery on Friday morning. Tables available for Friday and Saturday at the moment and it looks like a good weekend weather wise so the courtyard will be open.                  As usual, 01453 832808 is the number to call to reserve your table.
