We managed to do half of the brunch service out in the courtyard on Saturday until rain stopped play at about 1p.m. then it was all indoors. Last week we took the brunch menu out of the menu box by the front door and stuck it on our “A board” so that we could showcase our veggie menu alongside the weekend dinner menu. (with me so far?) We then had the quietest Saturday brunch any of us can remember since we opened so for this weekend it’s all back as it was! Why is it that people ring to book a table, ring again to change that booking then don’t bother to turn up or cancel on the day? Even though we cook to order there is an element of wastage as we have baked bread and prepared canapes tailored to their dietary needs and hopefully not turned other customers away in the belief that the table was sold. Weekend dinner menu – Friday 16 and Saturday 17 March 2018

We thought we might get the courtyard ready for the milder weather but now the temperature is set to plummet at the weekend with a chance of more snow on Sunday…. best we leave it for now. Whenever folk ring to book a table we enquire about dietary requirements so that we can verbally offer alternative dishes on the night. With so many vegetarians coming in we are talking about producing a veggie menu. More details to follow.
