Mid week menu – 8 to 10 August 2017

I’m all for a bit of forward planning but wasn’t expecting to take a dinner booking  for Christmas Eve from a couple eating with us over the weekend. We also have a wedding party booked for September 2018 but we don’t have next years diary yet! It’s all business though so we will gladly book it.

Courgette soup

Severn and Wye smoked salmon and crayfish tail parcel

Pressed ham hock terrine with mixed pickles

Potted Devon crab, lemon dill mayonnaise and toasted sour dough

Orzo stuffed roasted red pepper, mozzarella, wild rocket and pesto

 

Cornish monk fish tail, buttered samphire and mild curry cream

Pan seared swordfish steak with fresh tomato and basil sauce

Asian spiced Barbary duck breast sliced over dark soy, sesame and ginger jus

Sautéed Cotswold pork escallops, Gloucester sausage, sage and onion gravy

  Aged local beef fillet “au poivre” (£3.50 supplement, sorry)

Pan seared scallops, sweet potato puree, chorizo and chilli oil

Twice baked Stilton soufflé, baby leaf spinach and walnuts (15 minutes)

Finely sliced dill cured salmon, beetroot and horseradish crème fraiche

Pressed ham hock terrine with home grown pear chutney

 

Cornish monk fish tail, buttered kale and mild curry cream sauce

Pan fried sea bass fillet on dark soy, sesame and ginger jus

Roast local pheasant breast with chestnuts and Cognac cream

Slow braised Cotswold venison in rich red wine gravy, little onions and mushrooms

Aged local beef fillet with tarragon, tomato and vintage Port reduction                      (£3.50 supplement – sorry)

Winter squash risotto, honey roasted aubergine, pine nuts and pumpkin seeds

Pheasant seems to be a popular choice off the party menu this year. We have just received five brace which need stripping down so we can get the stock pot on. End of term tomorrow for most, some space for both Friday and Saturday evening at the moment, please call 01453 832808 to book.
