Weekend menu -2&3 November 2018

Overheard two young mums in the local supermarket. One said “I don’t know why they have to do Halloween on a school night” the other replied “Yeah it would make more sense to have it on a Friday” ……….Bless ’em. 

We have tables available for dinner on both Friday and Saturday at time of writing. Fresh fish ordered for delivery in the morning. Pheasant now on the menu as winter arrives. Don’t forget Saturday brunch served from 11a.m.

Pan fried Devon crab cake, spiced avocado and sweet chilli jam

Twice baked mature Cheddar soufflé, spinach and cream (15 mins please)

Severn and Wye oak smoked salmon, king prawns and Marie Rose sauce

Warm ham hock and red onion marmalade tart, dressed rocket

 

Poached Cornish plaice with Prosecco and parsley cream sauce

Sea bass fillet simply pan fried and served with lemon and herb dressing

Roast local pheasant breast, slow braised red cabbage and Port jus

Sautéed Cotswold pork escallops with Gloucester sausage, sage and onion gravy

Aged local beef fillet, rich red wine and mushroom sauce (£3.50 supplement – sorry)

Spiced pumpkin, Evesham leek and lentil gratin

 

Dark chocolate and orange torte with tangy orange sorbet

A classic crème brulée with fine butter shortbread

Home grown pear and almond tart served warm with clotted cream ice cream

There we were happily preparing for a full Saturday evening service when not one but two tables rang and cancelled…………..grrrr. At least they were polite enough to call but it left us with six empty seats on what should have been a busy night. No roast for us this weekend…….now where did I put that 101 mince recipes book?
