Weekend menu – 5 & 6 April 2019

Now that’s what you call an April shower…….hail, sleet, snow and torrents of water running down all the local hills this morning. If I were you I’d plan indoor activities this weekend….how about dinner at Oldstone? We have tables available and a quick call to 01453 832808 will secure yours.

Roasted red pepper soup

Fine rolled smoked haddock omelette, white wine and dill cream sauce

Wild rocket, pear and Parmesan salad with pine nuts and balsamic dressing

An old school prawn cocktail

Black pudding, field mushroom and spinach stack topped with a poached egg

Cornish hake supreme baked with red onion and little plum tomatoes

 Pan fried sea bass fillet with salsa verde

Roast free range chicken breast, mixed mushroom and chive cream sauce

Sautéed Cotswold pork escallops, sage and onion sauce

Aged local beef fillet, pulled beef brisket and rich red wine gravy (£3.50 supplement – sorry)

Mediterranean vegetable risotto

 

Warm Yorkshire rhubarb and almond tart with clotted cream ice cream

Dark chocolate truffle cake with blueberry compote

A classic crème brulée with fine butter shortbread

Four West Country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
