Mid week menu – 27 to 29 November 2018

Black Friday…….another American import that so many in this country seem to have embraced. There was a display of reduced price, supersized bottles of spirits in our local supermarket on Friday which was stripped bare when we popped in for the papers and a few bits on Saturday morning.

Cornish kale soup

Pan fried Devon crab cake, guacamole and sweet chilli jam

Seared local venison fillet, red onion marmalade and wild rocket salad

An old school prawn cocktail

Twice baked mature cheddar soufflé, baby leaf spinach and cream (15 mins please)

Cornish monk fish tail, buttered samphire and plum tomato sauce

Pan seared swordfish steak with lemon and herb dressing

Sautéed Cotswold pork escallops, borlotti bean and bacon sauce

Roast pheasant breast, English apple and cider gravy

  Aged local beef fillet, shallot and rich red wine reduction (£3.50 supplement, sorry)

Winter mushroom millefeuille, chive cream sauce and truffle oil

 Dark chocolate truffle cake, Cotteswold dairy double cream

Baked lemon cheesecake with tangy lemon sorbet

Pear and almond tart served warm with clotted cream ice cream

Four West Country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
