Mid week menu – 14 to 16 August 2018

We have a table of 5 vegetarians in the diary for Tuesday evening. They are obviously aware of our separate seasonal veggie menu. Check it out on our blog page. Have we had enough rain now? We’de got used to wearing T shirts every day with no thought for jackets or jumpers although it was a bit more comfortable in the kitchen on a busy Saturday night with the temperature outside down in the teens for a change.

Three courses £30     Two courses £25.50     Starter and pudding £15


Butternut squash soup

Pan fried Devon crab cake, sweet chilli dipping sauce

Wild rocket, donut peach and Serrano ham salad, balsamic glaze

Smoked salmon spaghetti, sugar snaps and vodka cream sauce

Heritage tomatoes, torn buffalo mozzarella, toasted pine nuts and basil dressing


Pan fried Cornish Pollock supreme with lemon buttered samphire

Poached sea trout fillet, Prosecco and parsley cream sauce

Roast Barbary duck breast sliced over English cherry and brandy jus

  Aged local beef fillet, red onion marmalade, Port reduction (£3.50 supplement, sorry)

Sautéed Cotswold pork escallops, black pudding and grain mustard sauce

Chestnut mushroom Stroganoff with red, white and wild rice

 Apricot and almond tart served warm with clotted cream ice cream

Dark chocolate truffle cake with summer berries

A classic crème brulée with fine butter shortbread

Four West Country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
