Mid week menu – 28 to 30 November 2017

Thankfully it’s only one night of the year but Nailsworth Noel last Friday succeeded in killing off trade as usual with half a dozen massive food trucks and stalls from out of town setting up along Old Market in amongst the larger than ever fun fair. We did have some customers who had not been to the event before. They had envisioned an evening strolling through local artisan’s stalls, sipping mulled wine and listening to carols but instead likened the event to a night out in Blackpool…. We could only apologise!

Three courses £29.50     Two courses £25     Starter and pudding £14.50


Parsnip and carrot soup

Finely sliced salmon gravadlax with honey mustard dressing

Warm salad of roast local venison fillet, wild rocket and chestnuts

Pan fried Devon crab cake with sweet chilli dipping sauce

Winter mushroom millefeuille, chive cream sauce and truffle oil


Poached sea trout supreme, baby leaf spinach and Prosecco cream sauce

South coast Ray wing pan fried in lemon, parsley and caper butter

Roast pheasant breast with apple sauce and cider gravy

Sautéed Cotswold pork escallops, chorizo and piquant tomato sauce

  Aged local beef fillet “au poivre” (£3.50 supplement, sorry)

Baharat spiced aubergine and chick pea stew with red, white and wild rice


Warm pear and almond tart with Cotteswold dairy cream

A classic crème brulée with fine butter shortbread

Dark chocolate truffle cake, white chocolate ice cream

Four West Country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
