Weekend menu – 6 & 7 October 2014

Apologies for the scaffolding out front as building repairs continue. The 200 year old bits are fine but typically the dodgy work done in the 70’s needs attention.          It was chilly again this morning. Maybe time to pack away the courtyard furniture and admit that autumn is here. By the way the Christmas menus are done and on our blog page and I saw selection boxes in Tesco this week!………Too soon?

Roast tomato soup

Prawn and sea trout tian with lemon and dill dressing

Warm ham hock and broad bean tart, homemade piccalilli

Smoked mackerel and celeriac remoulade, beetroot and horseradish crème fraiche

Twice baked mature Cheddar soufflé, baby spinach and cream (15 min please)

 

Pan fried fillet of Poole harbour grey mullet simply pan fried and served with salsa verde

Cornish monk fish cheeks baked with red onion, little tomatoes and chorizo

Aged local beef fillet, mushroom Stroganoff sauce (£3.50 supplement – sorry)

Sautéed Cotswold pork escallops, buttered Evesham leeks, cider gravy

Roast Barbary duck breast sliced over plum and Cognac reduction

Baharat spiced aubergine and chick pea stew on red, white and wild rice

 

Moist Tunisian almond cake with tangy orange sorbet

Dark chocolate and salty caramel tart, caramel ice cream

Baked blackberry and apple cheesecake

Four West Country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
