Mid week menu – 19 to 21 September 2017

We have had a really good crop of pears from our tree this year and put a help yourself box on the front wall which has been emptied twice by passers by now. There’s probably enough fruit still on the branches to fill it again so keep an eye out later this week.


Dinner                         Tuesday 19th to Thursday 21st September   2017

Three courses £29.50     Two courses £25     Starter and pudding £14.50


Cornish kale soup sprinkled with nuts and seeds

Seasoned linguine tossed with rich venison and red wine ragu

Devon crab, prawn and crayfish tail “cocktail”

Warm salad of grilled aubergine, little tomatoes, horseradish crumb and herbs

Pan fried smoked haddock fish cake, lemon and caper mayonnaise


Cornish monk fish tail, spinach and roasted red pepper sauce

Poole harbour grey mullet fillet simply pan fried and served with salsa verde

Asian spiced Barbary duck breast sliced over dark soy and ginger jus

Sautéed Cotswold pork escallops, mushroom cream sauce

  Aged local beef fillet “au poivre” (£3.50 supplement, sorry)

Sweet potato and autumn squash Madras with red, white and wild rice


Warm home grown pear and almond tart, clotted cream ice cream

Dark chocolate truffle cake with raspberry and strawberry sorbet

Baked cheesecake with blackberry and apple compote

Four West Country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
