Mid week menu – 15 to 17 August 2017

Lots in the news about contaminated imported eggs and supermarkets recalling numerous products. We have just one supplier of large, class A, free range eggs here at Oldstone and they come from Woodland Valley Eggs in Woodmancote a mere 7 miles from us.

Three courses £29.50     Two courses £25     Starter and pudding £14.50


Toasted sweet corn soup

Severn and Wye oak smoked salmon and crayfish tail parcel

Warm salad of sautéed calves liver and bacon with red onion marmalade

Pan fried Devon crab cake with sweet chilli dipping sauce

Wild rocket, ripe peach and Feta cheese salad, pumpkin seed dressing


Boneless Brixham plaice, buttered samphire and mild curry cream

Pan seared swordfish steak with fresh tomato and basil sauce

Roast Barbary duck breast sliced over apple and cider reduction

Sautéed Cotswold pork escallops, roasted red pepper and lentil jus

  Aged local beef fillet, roast shallot and rich red wine sauce (£3.50 supplement, sorry)

Twice baked mature Cheddar soufflé on creamed baby leaf spinach


Dark chocolate and orange torte with tangy orange sorbet

English cherry and almond tart served warm with clotted cream ice cream

A classic crème brulée with English summer berries

Four West Country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
