Dinner menu – 18 to 20 April 2017

Easter Sunday and we are ticking off the work related jobs so we can have some free time later. Typically it is dull, overcast and not very warm so outdoor activities will be limited. On the plus side there seems little point in washing the car if rain is on the way and there is motor racing on the telly later this afternoon!

Sweet potato and Evesham leek soup

Pan fried Cornish mackerel fillet, pickled carrot and pea shoots

Pan roasted local venison loin fillet, ripe pear and wild rocket salad

Potted Devon crab, lemon and dill mayonnaise, toasted sour dough

Jersey Royal and English asparagus salad, hen’s egg and Cornish blue dressing

 

Pan seared swordfish steak with mixed peppers and sweet chilli jam

Baked hake supreme on baby leaf spinach and mild curry cream

Roast Barbary duck breast sliced over candied orange and Cognac sauce

Sautéed Cotswold pork escallops, Gloucester sausage, sage and onion gravy

  Aged local beef fillet, wild garlic butter, rich red wine reduction (£3.50 supplement, sorry)

Mixed mushroom millefeuile, herb cream sauce and white truffle oil

 

Blueberry and almond tart served warm with clotted cream ice cream

Spiced apple cake with cinnamon whipped cream

Warm triple chocolate brownie

Four West Country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
