It was nice to see a full dining room on Saturday evening to bring January to a close. Limited space left for Valentine’s day if you were thinking of coming out. The number for bookings is 01453 832808.

Roast tomato soup

Pan fried smoked haddock fish cake with chunky tartare sauce

Baked egg with air dried ham, leeks and double Gloucester cream

A simple prawn and crayfish cocktail

Melting goat’s cheese, red pepper and pesto puff with wild rocket


Day boat Gurnard fillet, plum tomato and caper sauce

Pan fried fillets of gilt head bream on dark soy, sesame and ginger jus

Roast pheasant breast, Bramley apple sauce and cider gravy

Sautéed Cotswold pork escallops, Gloucester sausage and red onion gravy

  Aged local beef fillet “au poivre” (£3.50 supplement, sorry)

Chestnut mushroom Stroganoff with red, white and wild rice


Dark chocolate and salty caramel tart with ice cream

A classic crème brulée with fine butter shortbread

 Moist Tunisian almond cake, tangy orange sorbet

Four West Country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
