Weekend menu – 16 & 17 September 2016

We need to think about picking some pears off our tree. There is so much fruit this year that the branches are sagging on top of the car despite stringing up netting. Look out for tarts, crumbles, chutneys etc. on the menu in the coming weeks! Tables free for both Friday and Saturday at the moment. Please call 01453 832808 to book.

Carrot and ginger soup

Cornish sardine fillets pan fried in lemon and garlic butter

Spiced lamb flat bread, cucumber and mint relish

Prawn and crayfish tail tian with avocado and sweet chilli dressing

Warm three cheese and green onion tart, roast vine tomatoes


Pan roasted cod loin on squid and plum tomato stew

Poached plaice fillets, buttered samphire and Prosecco cream sauce

Roast Barbary duck breast, Bramley apple sauce, cider reduction

Sautéed Cotswold pork escallops with mushroom and paprika cream

Aged local beef fillet, baby beet and horseradish crème fraiche, red wine jus               (£3.50 supplement – sorry)

Baharat spiced aubergine and chick pea stew on red, white and wild rice


Sunken flourless dark chocolate cake, English strawberries and cream

Crème brulée with fine butter shortbread

Plum and almond tart served warm with clotted cream ice cream
