Mid week menu – 16 to 18 August 2016

We have a new hanging sign at last after the old one came down in the stormy weather earlier in the year. Now we just need the front wall repairing following the incident with the out of control car and resulting insurance claim and we can freshen up the paintwork and look smart again for a while!

Spiced tomato, red pepper and lentil soup

Pan fried black bream fillet on lemon buttered samphire

Flash roasted local roe deer loin, red onion marmalade, pea shoot salad

Finely sliced Severn and Wye smoked salmon, Devon crab meat and prawns

Mediterranean vegetable tart served warm with wild rocket and pitted olives

 

Poached plaice fillets (Sara Lena – Torquay) with spinach and Prosecco cream sauce

Pan fried sea bass fillet with a warm baby plum tomato and basil dressing

Roast 5 spiced Barbary duck breast sliced over blueberry sweet and sour

Cotswold pork escallops with mixed mushroom and chive cream sauce

  Aged local beef fillet,  tarragon and cracked pepper butter, red wine reduction         (£3.50 supplement, sorry)

Summer squash and broad beans in mild curry cream on red, white and wild rice

 

Dark chocolate and cherry torte

English strawberry tartlet with strawberry ice cream

A classic crème brulée with fine butter shortbread

Four West Country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
