Weekend dinner menu 5 & 6 February 2016

The rugby kicks off this weekend, let’s hope it doesn’t put folk off coming out for dinner.Last pheasant of the season on the menu. Looking ahead to next weekend, Valentines….The dining room is full on Saturday night but we will set out three nice tables in the bar area, Friday and Sunday are both filling but some tables are still available….don’t leave it too long to book on 01453 832808

Friday 5th and Saturday 6th February 2016

Two courses £25

Creamed leek soup with flat bread croutons
Pan fried Cornish mackerel fillet with home grown pear chutney
Serrano ham on toasted bloomer, roasted sweet tomatoes and basil
A simple starter of Severn and Wye oak smoked salmon, Devon crab meat and prawns with Marie Rose sauce
Twice baked goats cheese soufflé (15 minutes please)
Supreme of Loch reared trout with mixed peppers and pesto oil
Smoked cod loin with baby leaf spinach and mild curry cream sauce
Pan roasted local pheasant breast, Bramley apple sauce and cider jus
Sautéed Cotswold pork escalopes, winter mushrooms, chive cream sauce
Aged local beef fillet, red onion marmalade and a rich red wine reduction £3.50 supplement – sorry!
Butternut squash risotto with Parmesan, parsley and pumpkin seeds
Flourless dark chocolate cake, white chocolate ice cream
A classic crème brulée with fine butter shortbread
Baked lemon tart with lemon sorbet
Four west country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
