Oldstone dinner menu – 26 to 28 January 2016

People can be very strange at times. We had a phone call at 6.30 on Friday to ask if we had a table for 2 at 7 p.m. The usual questions were asked regarding dietary requirements, a name was taken and we said see you at 7. Candle lit, canapes prepared, bread baked, water, butter etc. put on table and nobody showed up nor did they bother to call back to cancel…….thanks for that!

Cornish monk fish in piquant tomato and flat leaf parsley sauce

Roast local pheasant breast, Bramley apple sauce and cider reduction
Winter vegetable, braised lentil and potato pie
Warm pear and almond tart with gingerbread ice cream

Mulled wine jelly with clotted cream ice cream and shortbread
