What a glorious day on Saturday….customers enjoying a leisurely brunch in our sunny courtyard, ducklings swimming on the stream below. Here we are on Sunday with plans to get the ladders out and tackle the annual tidy up to the window frames and it is raining!!! I should have known better, it being a bank holiday weekend!

Red onion soup with double Gloucester croutons
Prawn and crayfish tail tian, mango and sweet chilli sauce
Artichoke hearts baked under Parmesan cream topped with pancetta
Crisp battered squid rings, wild garlic dipping sauce
Wye valley asparagus with lemon and cracked pepper butter
Cornish brill fillet with spinach and mild curry cream
Pan fried sea bass fillet, smoked tomato relish
Aged local beef fillet “au poivre” £3.50 supplement – sorry!
Sautéed Cotswold pork escalopes, buttered Evesham leeks, cider gravy
Free range chicken breast with mushroom cream sauce
Baharat spiced aubergine and chick pea stew on red, white and wild rice
Warm apple and almond tart, clotted cream ice cream
Dark chocolate truffle cake with English strawberries
A classic crème brulée with fine butter shortbread
Four west country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
