Dinner menu – weekend 1st & 2nd May 2015

Bank holiday weekend…..the sun is shining for now so Hilary is out painting the shed and gates, Mike the butcher had a nice display of barbecue items this morning but the forecast ain’t great folks so I would abandon those “al fresco” plans and book a table at Oldstone instead.

Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd May 2015
Three courses £29
Two courses £24.50
Spinach and wild garlic soup
Finely sliced Severn and Wye oak smoked salmon, red onion and capers
New season English asparagus with cracked pepper and lemon butter
Pan fried Devon crab cake with sweet chilli dipping sauce
Warm leek and double Gloucester tart, wild rocket and crisp pancetta
Cornish monk fish tail with pea shoots and Prosecco cream sauce
Pan fried sea trout supreme, little plum tomatoes and chive dressing
Aged local beef fillet “Chasseur” £3.50 supplement – sorry!
Roast Barbary duck breast, Bramley apple sauce and cider reduction
Sautéed Cotswold pork escalopes, green peppercorn and brandy sauce
Roasted red pepper risotto, melting goats cheese and pesto
Spiced Yorkshire rhubarb cake served with cinnamon cream
Baked lemon tart with lemon sorbet
Dark chocolate truffle cake with early English strawberries and cream
Four west country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
