Dinner menu 21 to 23 April 2015

How strange……a lady popped in on Friday evening to ask if we had a table for 2.We did so she said she would go and get her partner to park up and be back in a few minutes. We prepared canapes and put another loaf of bread in the oven in anticipation. It is now Monday morning and I suspect she is not coming back!

Red onion soup with double Gloucester croutons
Devon crab and prawn tian, mango and sweet chilli sauce
Warm salad of wild rocket, seared local venison loin and grapes
English asparagus with cracked pepper and lemon butter
Crisp battered squid rings, smoked sea salt and wild garlic dipping sauce
Cornish monk fish tail, baby leaf spinach and mild curry cream
Pan fried sea bass fillet with slow roasted tomatoes
Aged local beef fillet with sautéed mushrooms and a rich red wine reduction £3.50 supplement – sorry!
Cotswold pork escalopes, buttered Evesham leeks and cider gravy
Roast Barbary duck breast sliced over dark cherry and Cognac jus
Marinated artichoke and feta cheese tart
Dark chocolate ginger cheesecake, stem ginger crème fraiche
Warm apple tartlet with clotted cream ice cream
A classic crème brulée with fine butter shortbread
Four west country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
