Weekend menu for 30 & 31 January 2015

End of the month already! Nearly full for Saturday evening but we do have spaces available for Friday at the moment.We had a very busy Saturday last week with 37 for brunch and 26 for dinner….not bad for January in a 24 seat dining room with 1 cook. By contrast we only had 2 tables of 2 on Tuesday night so that brought us back down to earth with a bump!

Friday 30th and Saturday 31st January 2015

Red onion soup with double Gloucester croutons
Devon crab meat, crayfish tail and prawn “cocktail”
Free range egg, spinach and air dried ham baked under Parmesan cream
A simple plate of finely sliced Severn and Wye salmon gravadlax
Field mushrooms sautéed in garlic butter served on toasted bloomer
Pan fried line caught mackerel fillet on smoked cod and corn chowder
Cornish monk fish tail with red onion, bacon and baby plum tomatoes
Aged local beef fillet, beetroot relish and rich red wine reduction

Roast local pheasant breast with Bramley apple sauce and cider gravy Cotswold pork escalopes with chorizo, lentils and tomato
Butternut squash and scallion risotto, crème fraiche, pumpkin seeds
Dark chocolate mousse, milk chocolate biscuit, white chocolate ice
Warm pear and almond tart, clotted cream ice cream
Baked toffee banana cheesecake
Four west country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
