Oldstone dinner menu – weekend 16 / 17 January 2015

Abandon ship!!!  this terrible wet and windy weather has revealed a couple of weak spots in our ancient buildings. Pete the builder has been to have a look and a new mop head has been purchased.             Hurry hurry!!!  tables for Valentines are going fast….8 of the 12 are already reserved for the 14th.                                                                       Looking ahead….we have had some interest in Mother’s day lunch already so will get the menu on to the blog and start taking bookings in the next week or so.

Butternut squash soup
Pan fried Devon crab cake with sweet chilli dipping sauce
Aubergine and pepper parcel baked under Parmesan cream
Deep fried battered squid rings, smoked sea salt and garlic mayonnaise
Warm salad of roast local venison fillet, wild rocket and pickled shallots
Poached fillet of sea reared trout, spinach and mild curry cream
Roast line caught cod loin on baby plum tomato and red onion stew
Aged local beef fillet, buttered Evesham leeks and Tom Long gravy £3.50 supplement – sorry!
Roast local pheasant breast with apple sauce and cider reduction
Sautéed Cotswold pork escalopes, chorizo and cannellini bean sauce
Button mushroom Stroganoff with red, white and wild rice
Baked pumpkin cheesecake with crème fraiche
Dark chocolate and salty caramel tart, clotted cream ice cream
Crème brulée with fine butter shortbread
Four west country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
Saturday brunch served from 11a.m.
