Oldstone dinner menu – 18 to 20 November 2014

What a difference a week makes. Last Saturday we turned away numerous bookings and then this weekend found ourselves with empty tables. Hopefully back to a full restaurant this week.

Red onion soup with double Gloucester croutons
Pan fried Cornish mackerel fillet with home grown pear chutney
Warm salad of roast local venison loin, wild rocket and chestnuts
Crayfish tail and prawn cocktail
Warm pastry case filled with field mushrooms sautéed in garlic and parsley butter
Cornish monk fish with ratatouille sauce
Pan seared swordfish steak with mango and sweet chilli salsa
Cotswold pork escalopes with slow braised red cabbage
Aged local beef fillet, horseradish crust and rich red wine reduction

Roast local pheasant breast, apple sauce and cider gravy
Spinach and beetroot risotto with shaved Parmesan and pine nuts
Warm pear and almond tart with clotted cream ice cream
Orange crème caramel
Dark chocolate ginger cheesecake with stem ginger crème fraiche
Four west country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
