Oldstone dinner menu – 4 to 6 November 2014

It was nice to see the fully booked sign go up twice over the weekend as well as steady trade through the rest of the week…..not always the way at half term.

Roasted red pepper soup
Finely sliced Severn and Wye oak smoked salmon, Devon crab meat and prawns with Marie Rose sauce
Goats cheese and tomato frittata, pesto and pine nuts
Evesham leeks wrapped in air dried ham baked under Parmesan cream
Winter mushroom millefeuille, herb cream sauce and truffle oil
Pan seared swordfish steak with sweet chilli dipping sauce
Brixham plaice fillets with spinach and white wine cream sauce
Cotswold pork escalopes with sautéed onions and sage gravy
Aged local beef fillet “au poivre” £3.50 supplement – sorry!
Roast local pheasant breast with chestnuts and Whisky cream sauce
Baharat spiced aubergine and chick pea stew on red, white and wild rice
Warm plum and almond tart with clotted cream ice cream
A classic crème brulée with fine butter shortbread
Home grown pear pancake with chocolate sauce
Four west country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
