Oldstone weekend menu – 23 & 24 May 2014

It’s one of those days (again!)….the computer would not let me type the menu so I went to make the soup…the stick blender broke mid blitz…..so I went to check the post….all bills as you might expect! I think I’ll pause for a bite of lunch then see if the afternoon is any kinder. By the way…lots of fresh seasonal produce about…nice summery menu….tables available at the moment for both Friday and Saturday …and …a Bank holiday on Monday….enjoy!

Pan fried Cornish mackerel fillet, Jersey Royals in mustard dressing, horseradish crème fraiche
English asparagus wrapped in air dried ham, butter fried free range egg
Severn and Wye oak smoked salmon, crayfish tails and pink prawns with tarragon mayonnaise
Marinated tomatoes and baby mozzarella on toast, wild garlic pesto
Boneless Brixham plaice with Champagne cream and pea shoots
Roast Cornish cod loin with spinach and fresh tomato sauce
Cotswold pork escalopes, chestnut mushroom and chive cream
7 spiced Barbary duck breast sliced over dark soy and ginger sauce
Aged local beef fillet, beetroot relish, red wine jus £3.50 supplement – sorry!
A summery green vegetable risotto drizzled with white truffle oil
Baked orange cheesecake with tangy orange sorbet
Dark chocolate mousse, milk chocolate cookie, white chocolate ice
English strawberry tart with clotted cream ice cream
