Oldstone weekend dinner menu – 16 / 17 May 2014

Weather forecast is good for the weekend. Tables available for Friday dinner, Saturday is almost fully booked. We have put the parasols out in the courtyard in anticipation of a busy al fresco Saturday brunch…….reservations not taken for brunch, just pop along.

Friday 16th & Saturday 17th May 2014

Red onion soup with double Gloucester croutons
Pan fried Devon crab cake with sweet chilli dipping sauce
Baked egg with English asparagus, Parmesan and savoury cream
Ugly tomato and pea shoot salad with prawns and crayfish tails in lemon dressing
Jersey Royal potato salad, old spot sausage and vintage cider jus
Poached sea trout supreme with piquant roasted pepper dressing
Pan fried bass fillet on dark soy and ginger jus
Cotswold pork escalopes with a mixed bean and chorizo stew
Roast Barbary duck breast sliced over orange and Cognac sauce
Aged local beef fillet “au poivre” £3.50 supplement – sorry!
Chestnut mushroom Stroganoff with red, white and wild rice
Baked cinnamon apple cheesecake, blackcurrant sorbet
Dark chocolate and pecan torte with toffee crème fraiche
Custard tart, English strawberries and strawberry sauce
Four west country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
