Oldstone dinner menu 29/4 to 1/5 2014

The racks of spring lamb sold well over the weekend……just one left so that’s Sunday dinner sorted!  Managed a walk up to Amberley this afternoon between showers….wild garlic a plenty…..pesto to be made and oil to infuse, maybe a spinach and wild garlic soup for next weekend’s menu? By the way we are getting booked up for the May bank holiday weekend so call if you want a table.

Roasted red pepper soup
English asparagus with lemon butter sauce
Serrano ham, marinated tomatoes and wild garlic pesto on toast
A tasting plate of Severn and Wye oak smoked salmon, Devon
crab pâté and a little prawn cocktail
Warm salad of roast Mediterranean vegetables, wild rocket and Feta
Pan fried sea trout supreme with samphire and citrus butter
Smoked cod loin on baby leaf spinach with mild curry cream
Roast Barbary duck breast, apple sauce and vintage cider jus
Cotswold pork escalopes with chestnut mushroom cream sauce
Aged local beef fillet “au poivre“ £3.50 supplement – sorry!
Field mushroom and mixed bean chilli with red, white and wild rice
Baked lime cheesecake, lemon sorbet
Warm triple chocolate brownie, fresh berries and double cream
Baileys crème brulée with a hazelnut cookie
Four west country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
