Oldstone dinner menu – 22 to 24 April 2014

Where did everybody go? Nailsworth has been deserted all over the Easter break and we have been very quiet. The staff went home with lots of left over puddings on Saturday night and I was left to force down 4 of Hilary’s dark chocolate mousses!

Roasted red pepper soup
Devon crab and pink grapefruit salad
Sautéed field mushrooms on toasted bloomer with wild garlic pesto
Seared local venison loin fillet, wild rocket, red onion marmalade
A good old fashioned prawn cocktail
Brixham plaice fillets, Wye valley asparagus and white wine cream
Pan roasted Cornish hake supreme on chunky tomato sauce
Seven spiced Barbary duck breast sliced over dark soy and ginger jus
Roast 3 bone rack of local spring lamb with fresh mint gravy
Aged local beef fillet with slow braised brisket in a rich sauce made with Stroud brewery ale £3.50 supplement – sorry!
Tomato and spinach risotto with melting buffalo mozzarella
Warm pecan tart with clotted cream ice cream
Dark chocolate truffle cake with fresh berries and cream
Rhubarb crème brulée, fine butter shortbread
Four west country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
