Oldstone dinner menu – 11 to 13 March 2014

We had a quiet weekend. Folk seemed to be taking advantage of the dry spell to get out and about, tidy gardens etc. We had a long walk yesterday and everywhere we went there was the sound of mowers and garden tools. Even did a couple of jobs off the outside list ourselves!

Roasted red pepper soup

Finely sliced dill cured salmon, honey mustard dressing

Warm ham hock and Evesham leek tartlet, mustard cream sauce

Devon crab meat, peeled prawn and crayfish tail “cocktail”

Melting goats cheese and baby leaf spinach puff, olive dressing


Pan fried fillet of sea bass with slow roasted tomatoes and pesto

Cornish monk fish tail with peas and Prosecco cream

Roast Barbary duck breast, Bramley apple sauce and Calvados jus

Cotswold pork escalopes with mixed mushroom cream sauce

Aged local beef fillet “au poivre” £3.50 supplement – sorry!

Sweet potato and butternut squash kedgeree with cavolo nero


Crème brulée with fine butter shortbread

Warm pear and almond tart with clotted cream ice cream

Dark chocolate ginger cheesecake, stem ginger crème fraiche

Four west country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
