Oldstone weekend menu – 7 & 8 February 2014

They are brave souls those south coast fishermen. With the weather we have been experiencing and the footage on the news from Devon and Cornwall I did not expect to be offered quite such a selection of fresh fish for delivery on Friday morning.

Pan fried Cornish mackerel fillet with home grown pear chutney

Purple sprouting sautéed with pine nuts, raisins and spiced butter

Seared venison fillet, wild rocket salad, red onion marmalade

Devon crab cake with sweet chilli dipping sauce

Fillet of Welsh sea bass on fine cut ratatouille

Aged local beef fillet, beetroot relish and rich red wine reduction £3.50 supplement – sorry!

Cotswold pork escalopes with winter mushroom cream sauce

Roast local pheasant breast, apple sauce and Calvados jus

Tomato and spinach risotto topped with melting goats cheese
