Oldstone dinner menu – 27 & 28 December 2013

That’s the last of the Christmas Eve guests leaving…….a bit of clearing up to do then feet up with a glass of something chilled !         Open again from Friday evening, brunch as usual on Saturday and dinner in the evening. New Years Eve is now fully booked. Happy Christmas one and all.

Pan fried smoked haddock fish cake with lemon mayonnaise

Warm salad of seared local venison loin, red gooseberry compote Devon crab, prawn and crayfish tail “cocktail”

Mixed mushroom millefeuille, herb cream sauce and truffle oil


Poached sea trout supreme, spinach and mild curry cream sauce

Pan fried fillet of bass on roasted ratatouille

Aged local beef fillet “au poivre” £3.50 supplement – sorry!

Cotswold pork escalopes, chestnut mushroom and paprika cream

Roast local pheasant breast, apple sauce and Calvados jus

Twice baked goats cheese soufflé, pea shoots and cream sauce


Dark chocolate tart with clotted cream ice cream

Baileys crème brulée, fine butter shortbread

Tunisian almond cake with winter fruits and crème fraiche

Four west country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
