Oldstone menu – weekend 6 & 7 December 2013

Only 3 weekends before Christmas and we are getting pretty well booked up especially for Saturday nights. Christmas Eve is now fully booked and we have just one table left for New Years Eve.

Roasted red pepper soup

Deep fried battered squid with garlic herb dipping sauce

Melting goats cheese and pesto puff, rocket and walnut salad

Finely sliced dill cured salmon, Devon crab meat and peeled prawns with honey mustard dressing

Local venison sausage and mash with rich ale and onion gravy


Cornish monk fish tail, baby leaf spinach and mild curry cream

Line caught wild Weymouth sea bass simply pan fried and served with a plum tomato dressing

Aged local beef fillet with black truffle and red wine reduction £3.50 supplement – sorry!

Roast local pheasant breast, chive and chestnut cream sauce

Cotswold pork escalopes, buttered leeks and vintage cider jus

Winter mushroom risotto, soft herbs and shaved Parmesan


Dark chocolate and orange tart, tangy orange sorbet

Baked spiced pumpkin cheesecake with crème fraiche

Crème brulée with fine butter shortbread

Four west country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
