Weekend menu 8 & 9 November 2013

Just placed our order with the fishmonger for delivery in the morning so here is the weekend’s menu. Taking a number of calls asking  about lunch on Christmas day but we will be closed on the 25th and 26th. December as usual…….sorry.



Friday 8th & Saturday 9th November 2013


Three courses £29

Two courses £24.50


Sweet potato soup, snipped chives and truffle oil

Pan fried Devon crab cake, sweet chilli dipping sauce

Venison sausage and mash with rich ale and onion gravy

Prawn and crayfish tail “cocktail” with two sauces

Warm double Gloucester and leek tart, pickled red cabbage


Cornish cod loin with white wine cream, bacon and peas

Pan fried sea bass fillet, pepperonata and little Couchillo olives

Aged local beef fillet, roast shallots and rich red wine reduction £3.50 supplement – sorry!

Roast local pheasant breast, apple sauce and Calvados jus

Pan fried Cotswold pork escalopes with mushroom cream sauce

Mildly spiced pumpkin, squash and spinach kedgeree


Dark chocolate and salty caramel tart, clotted cream ice cream

A classic crème brulée with fine butter shortbread

Baked lime cheesecake, orange and lemon sorbet

Four west country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread


We are now taking Christmas party bookings and New Years Eve is filling up fast.
