Oldstone weekend menu – 19 & 20 October 2012

It has been a slow week so far but thankfully the weekend is looking promising with only 2 tables left for Saturday now. Difficult fishing conditions off the south coast but we have Ray wings, haddock, mackerel and crab on order for delivery in the morning. Tasted 6 red wines for the new list last night…it’s a tough job but somebody’s got to do it!

Red onion soup with double Gloucester croutons

Cornish mackerel fillet with sweet pickled carrot and cucumber

A hot and cold vegetable antipasti plate

Severn and Wye oak smoked salmon, Devon crab meat and prawns with dill mayonnaise

Warm ham hock tart with watercress and piccalilli


Cornish ray wing simply pan fried in lemon and caper butter

Haddock fillet in tomato and Champagne cream sauce

Cotswold pork tenderloin, sage and onions, vintage cider gravy

Roast Barbary duck breast, red cabbage and spiced wine jus

Aged local beef fillet “au poivre” £3 supplement – sorry!

Autumn mushroom millefeuille, chive cream sauce, truffle oil

Twice baked goats cheese soufflé with baby leaf spinach


70% Dark chocolate mousse, white chocolate cookie

Warm pecan tart with crème brulée ice cream

Baked Amaretti and Limoncello cheesecake

Four west country cheeses, Bath Olivers and Hilary’s fruit bread
